I did this picture, inspired by a dream i had that i couldnt really make sense of. But i had this dream almost every night for a week, and that is what i kept seeing.
Well, a few days after i finished the painting, it sat on my easel drying and i brought my little sister into the room to see it.
When she stepped into the room and saw the painting she suddenly got pale and just paused. I watched her for a moment then said "what's wrong?" Without looking away from the painting she said "that's me." I wasnt expecting her to say that, and asked "is it?" She said "When i was a kid i used to have this dream that i was wandering through a forest, i would have it at least once a week, and i was searching for something or someone, i was waiting. How did you know to paint that?"
Thats when i told her i had been having the same dream.

I titled the painting 'Awaiting' before my little sister told me any of that.
